Being a T.E.A.M. Through COVID-19

Andrea was thrilled to receive her supply of Lysol for her property offices!

Andrea Helms is a property manager at Tulsa Housing Authority (THA) and shared the following about her experience continuing to serve THA residents through the COVID-19 pandemic:

“This new norm isn’t what we have been used to. Offices have been closed to the public, with all non-essential staff working remotely. In the last few weeks I have seen us as a team come together as a whole more than ever. We have all worked together, combining departments to get our number one priority – our residents – exactly what they need. I have seen Affordable Housing staff step up to help deliver food; I have seen residents delivering food from the bus stops to their fellow residents that aren’t mobile. I have seen social service coordinators passing out notices door-to-door for office staff.

Our residents have been very understanding of our new procedures, as well as our staff, and couldn’t be more excited, happy and thankful for the sincere attitudes from all. I have absolutely no doubt that if we continue to maintain and get through this new normal, we can get through anything that comes our way in the future. Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM).

One of my favorite quotes that just sums up this challenging time that we are all going through not only applies to THA but our residents as well: “We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other.”
